I Love Reagan
Shirts, Not T-Shirts
I was thinking back on the time past, on the days when President Reagan pronounced it to be “Morning in America.” It would be an undertatement to say I sometimes disagreed with his policies. But then, I worked in his government, on a program called by his name, and I saw the country grow and improve, in large part from his devotion and service to it. I recall those days fondly.
One day, I was looking at Reagan themed apparel and I couldn't find anything that was just right. Sure I found lots of it out there, but the only apparel with (in my opinion) any kind of class is the USS Reagan shirts, jackets and caps. But to be honest, I didn't want the USS Reagan goods. Don't get me wrong, commemorating a great president by naming a vessel for him is respectful and appropriate. It just isn't central to my enduring memory of a president who truly is the icon for the era he called into being.
President Reagan wasn't just a name. He was the kind of eternal optimist I can only strive to be, the kind I want the world to think all Americans are. President Reagan was constantly showing off his pearly whites. I wanted to be able to wear that icon myself. The man I remember.
I had another problem with all the readilyh available apparel, again with the exception of the goods from the USS Reagan. Everything I could find was a t-shirt. Sure, I wear them often enough, but while President Reagan sometimes dressed down, I just can't find any images of him in a t-shirt, and I really don't think they would suit him. So I don't do t-shirts, these are all button shirts with collars. All are short sleeve button down shirts.
For the start I've settled on just one kind of shirt. Just Plain Reagans. Check them out, let us know if you like 'em.
